Project Overview
Ajnad Logistics is an Istanbul-based humanitarian logistics company connecting donors with beneficiaries through packaging, transportation, distribution, storage, and campaign branding services. The organization needed an informational brochure website that could speak to both English- and Arabic-speaking donors and partner organizations without compromising on design consistency or usability in either language.
I built a fully bilingual, 10-page WordPress site (5 pages per language: Home, About, Services, Our Mission, Contact) in three weeks, using Astra, Elementor Pro, and WPML, with a complete mirrored Arabic version and true RTL layout, not a simple text-direction flip, but actual mirrored component order and spacing across every section.
The Challenge
Humanitarian organizations working across language communities face a common problem: an Arabic version bolted onto an English site usually breaks visually (misaligned icons, reversed reading flow, awkward spacing) because most WordPress themes are built RTL-as-an-afterthought. Ajnad needed both language versions to feel native, not translated, across all 10 pages.
The Solution
I built the site on WordPress with the Astra theme for a lightweight, fast-loading foundation, and Elementor Pro for the visual layout across both language versions. Multilingual content across all 10 pages is managed through WPML, with each Arabic page connected to its English counterpart, and I rebuilt the RTL layout section by section (icon-text order, image-text split, navigation) rather than relying on a simple CSS direction flip. Rank Math handles on-page SEO and hreflang tags for both language versions, LiteSpeed Cache keeps load times low, and UpdraftPlus runs automated backups.

How do you handle RTL layouts differently from standard translation plugins?
Standard translation plugins flip text direction but leave layout components (icon position, spacing, alignment) in their LTR order, which looks broken to Arabic readers. I rebuild each section's component order for the Arabic version so it reads as a native design, not a mirrored translation.
What's the best way to build a multilingual WordPress site with WPML and Elementor?
WPML handles the translation layer and hreflang tags, but the layout work has to happen separately in Elementor: every RTL page needs its component order manually reversed, since WPML doesn't do this automatically. Skipping that step is the most common reason Arabic WordPress sites look "auto-translated" instead of native.
