Project Overview

IMC (Intelligent Metal Construction) is a Qatar-based metal and steel fabrication company with more than 20 years in business and over 220 delivered projects, including landmark works such as Doha Festival City, Lekhwiya Stadium, and the GE Technology Center. The company needed a corporate website capable of presenting its engineering, fabrication, painting, and construction services alongside a structured project archive and company news, while remaining fast and straightforward to update.

I built the site from scratch on the Hello Elementor theme, using Elementor and Elementor Pro as the page builder, with Element Pack Pro and Ultimate Addons for Elementor Pro extending the widget library. Custom Post Type UI and Advanced Custom Fields PRO power the projects archive, services, and factory sections, and the site includes fully custom header, footer, and 404 templates built with Elementor Pro's Theme Builder.

The Challenge

Industrial and construction companies with decades of project history need a website that can present a large, evolving portfolio, IMC alone has more than 220 completed projects, without turning into a maintenance burden every time a new project or news item is added.

The Solution

I built a fully custom Hello Elementor theme using Elementor Pro, Element Pack Pro, and Ultimate Addons for Elementor Pro for the visual design, with Custom Post Type UI and Advanced Custom Fields PRO structuring the Projects, Services, and Factory sections as reusable content types rather than one-off pages. Rank Math handles on-page SEO, WP Rocket, Smush Pro, and WebP Express keep the heavy project photography fast-loading, UpdraftPlus runs automated backups, and CookieYes provides GDPR-compliant cookie consent.

FAQ

What's the advantage of using Custom Post Type UI and ACF instead of building separate WordPress pages for each project?

Custom Post Type UI turns "Projects" into its own structured content type, and Advanced Custom Fields adds consistent fields (location, scope, year, images) to every entry. That means a company with 220+ completed projects, like IMC, can add or update a project without touching the site's design or page structure, unlike separate one-off pages that gradually drift out of sync.

Why combine two Elementor addon libraries (Element Pack Pro and Ultimate Addons) on one site?

Each addon library covers different widget gaps in Elementor Pro. Combining them gives access to a wider set of pre-built components (galleries, counters, headers) without writing custom widgets from scratch, though it does mean keeping both updated and compatible with the core Elementor version, something worth checking after any major Elementor update.
